Efficiency and influence of heating device on wind turbine blades

The project will develop models and experimental methods to evaluate the efficiency of deicing equipment and its influence on the expected life of the turbine blades. In addition, new technology for ice detection will also be evaluated. Experiments will mainly be performed in climate room at LTU but also on a full scale wind turbine. The target is to increase the efficiency of wind turbines in cold climate under icing conditions.
