A 4.7-THz fundamental Schottky diode mixer
Paper in proceeding, 2022

Fundamental mixers operating at ambient temperatures are essential for realising long-lifetime space missions aiming to measure gas spectra at terahertz frequencies. This paper presents the design and sensitivity analysis of a 4.7-THz fundamental mixer. At supra-THz frequencies, fabrication and assembly tolerances substantially affect the mixer performance, and it is essential to identify critical circuit parameters. This work presents the progress towards a room-temperature heterodyne supra-terahertz receiver.
