Jonathan Geib

Visiting Teacher at Chalmers, Architecture and Civil Engineering, Urban Design and Planning

Jon Geib is an urbanist and architect whose doctoral research in the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology investigates how design methods can engage the city dialogically through multiple parallel and intersecting perspectives, including the foregrounding of nonhuman agents. As a Research Fellow in the EU Marie Curie project TRADERS (Training Art and Design Researchers in Participation for Public Space – tr-aders.eu; traderstalk.org), he explored, through an artistic research approach and collaboration with the Gothenburg Cultural Department, artistic-cultural framings of dialogue and participation underscoring their dynamics and ambivalences, especially those related to the designer's role(s) when choosing to work with and within institutions in a post-Fordist context. He holds a bachelor's degree in Architecture from The University of Texas at Austin and master's degrees from KU Leuven in Human Settlements and in Urbanism and Strategic Planning.
