Torgny Lindvall

Born 1945 in Göteborg. PhD at GU 1973, docent competence 1979 at GU, positions as research associate, docent and lecturer at the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Chalmers and GU 1973-1994, apppointed to associate professor and professor at GU 1994 and 1999. Research in periods from 1976 at Cambridge University, Copenhagen University, Stanford University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Universität Zurich.

Research interests: Markov chains and processes, renewal theory, applied probability, i.a. Published the book "Lectures on the Coupling Method" (Wiley) 1992.
