Kameshwara Venkata Ramana Peri

Doctoral Student at Industrial Biotechnology

In his PhD at Chalmers University of Technology, Kamesh studies metabolic gene clusters dedicated to sugar utilization in non-conventional yeasts. To make a bioprocess economically feasible, complete utilization of all sugars present in the biomass is an important factor. This requires expanding our knowledge about sugar utilization in yeasts. The aim of the project is to elucidate functionality of metabolic gene clusters that play a significant role in utilization of sugars and demonstrate their potential applications in the field of industrial biotechnology.
