Akram Sandvall

Doktorand at Chalmers, Space, Earth and Environment, Energy Technology

Akrams research concerns long-term sustainability of district heating systems. She is focusing on the regional scale, in which energy systems effects and costs of the large-scale utilization of industrial excess heat in district heating systems is assessed from a regional perspective. As her case of study, 37 local district heating systems and a large industrial chemical cluster in the Västra Götaland region of Sweden have been chosen. The assessment is carried out applying an energy system modeling tool, the MARKAL model.
