Sabrina Altmeyer Mendes

Doctoral Student at Environmental Systems Analysis 01

I am a PhD student in the Environmental Systems Analysis Division.

My research is part of a project called SIDWater (Sustainable Innovative Drinking Water Treatment Solutions for Large-scale Water Supply and Reuse). SIDWater endeavors to safeguard the sustainability of local drinking water sources through the creation of pioneering treatment techniques, aiming to halt the recurring pattern of treating and reintroducing contaminants into the environment. My research focuses on assessing the sustainability of novel treatment methods designed to eliminate per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), dissolved organic matter (DOM), and other pollutants from drinking water.
