Tobias Abenius research primary focus is on linear models when the number of samples is much less than the number of variables, i.e. underdetermined systems. Then one use different kinds of sparse models, first, to be able to find a model at all, and second, to retrieve the information that is interpretable. The aim is to create better system biology models of cancer, which can deepen the comprehension of processes like tumorigenesis.
