Clara Saglietti

Doctoral Student at Physical Resource Theory

Within the research group “Navigating Sustainability Transitions”, Clara focuses on the collaborative governance of transformations towards just and sustainable futures. Her research seeks to understand the root causes of complex sustainability challenges, identify leverage points, and co-develop approaches, methods, and tools to foster desirable transformations together with the societal actors involved. This undisciplinary work is based on qualitative methods inspired by participatory action research in collaboration with civil society, non-governmental or international organisations, and the public sector.

Clara is interested in both structural and agential aspects of change. Her research draws on system thinking to transform institutions and promote the development of agency through inclusive participation, dialogic deliberation, and social learning in, across, and beyond transition initiatives. She also has a broader curiosity for working with prefigurative politics, interspecies ethics, embodied and art-based research methods.
