Jacques de Maré

Professor Emeritus at Chalmers, Mathematical Sciences

Jacques de Maré received his PhD in mathematical statistics 1975 in Lund. He worked at Umeå University from 1976 to 1979 before securing a position at Chalmers. He became professor there in 1995. He visited the University of North Carolina 1982, the University of California, Santa Barbara, 1989, and Kyushu University in Fukuoka 2004. He is a member of the International Statistical Institute, and was one of the founders of the Swedish Fatigue Network and a member of its first board. At Chalmers he has worked in different ways to bring mathematics and engineering closer together.
