Evgeniya Bobkova

Doktorand at Chalmers, Architecture and Civil Engineering, City

Jane Bobkova is an urbanist, PhD candidate and a member of the Spatial Morphology Group (SMoG) since May 2016.She studies the relation between urban diversity and spatial urban form, and aims to identify the fundamental variables of spatial form that contribute to urban diversity and socio-economic performativity. In particular, she investigates the concept of spatial capacity, that is, the impact of land division on urban diversity. The project has its focus on Gothenburg and will be further extended into the comparative analysis of the cities of Gothenburg, Amsterdam, London and Stockholm as a part of a larger running research project – Spatial Morphology Lab. Here the fundamental diversity measure will contribute to the quantitative and qualitative classification of morphological urban types.
