Jelka Feldhusen

Doctoral Student at Chemistry and Biochemistry

Jelka is working on her PhD in Gunnar Westman’s group, studying the possibility of using itaconic acid and derivatives thereof, for modification of biopolymers like cotton and pulp fibres. This research aims to functionalize fibres in a green, sustainable, and scalable way, creating new materials in applications such as packaging, biomedical applications, filters etc.
