Kanming Shi

Doctoral Student at Energy and Material

My PhD project focuses on studies of the dynamical nature of low-dimensional hybrid organic-inorganic perovskites, with a view to their application in next-generation solar cells and light emitting diode technology. The aim is to understand how the dynamics affect the photoluminescent properties and, ultimately, to develop design criteria for new, more efficient materials. The primary tools to this end involve the use of a broad range of neutron scattering techniques, especially inelastic and quasielastic neutron scattering methods. The position is part of the Swedish Research School on Neutron Scattering (SwedNess), as funded by the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research.
