My research interests broadly center around the synthesis of single organic molecules and molecular nanostructures by on-surface chemistry, and the study of their chemical and electronic properties at the atomic scale by low-temperature ultra-high vacuum scanning tunneling microscopy and atomic force microscopy. Specific topics of interest include molecular structure imaging, molecular synthesis by scanning probe-based atom manipulation, charge-state transitions of single atoms and molecules on insulators, and the experimental investigation of the many-body electronic structure of molecular systems, particularly quantum spin systems. I joined Chalmers in May 2025. Previously, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the IBM Research Division in Zurich, Switzerland. I received a PhD in physics from the University of Zurich and the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (EMPA) in Dübendorf, Switzerland.
