Pablo Hermosilla Fernandez

Postdoc at Applied Chemistry

Pablo Hermosilla Fernández is a PostDoc researcher in Ergang Wang´s group since May of 2023. He obtained his PhD degree in Inorganic Chemistry about the synthesis of Rh, Ir, and Mn catalysts for molecular hydrogen production in October of 2022 in University of Zaragoza, Spain.

Currently, his research is in the field of organic chemistry. He specializes in utilizing continuous-flow chemistry techniques for the synthesis of donor polymers. His work involves the development of innovative processes for constructing these polymers, which are vital components in various applications such as organic electronics and photovoltaics.

Additionally, he focuses on designing and synthesizing Palladium catalysts integrated with N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligands to facilitate C-H activation reactions. This aspect of his research contributes to the advancement of efficient and selective methodologies in organic synthesis, particularly in the realm of cross-coupling reactions and functionalization strategies.

Moreover, he explores the application of click chemistry principles in polymerization reactions, harnessing its efficiency and selectivity to develop novel polymeric materials with tailored properties and functionalities.
