Sahith Kokkirala

Doctoral Student at Materials and manufacture

Sahith Kokkirala is a PhD student in the division of materials and manufacture focusing on the characterization of surface microstructure on the bearing steels.

His research aims to develop process-induced functional coatings for high-performance bearings. It is focused on developing a unique high-strength nano-sized microstructure on the bearing metallic surface during the hard-turning machining process to improve the mechanical performance and the manufacturing process’s robustness. The research is a part of the project Turn2Flex – Flexible and sustainable production of high performance rolling bearings.
