Amar Taja
Amar Taja is a PhD researcher at the Division of Construction Management, Chalmers University of Technology. He is part of the Formas-funded project FRESH: Future REgenerative production for Sustainable Housing and Buildings (2025–2029). Amar’s research explores how the construction and housing sector can move beyond sustainability and circularity toward regenerative modes of production; approaches that restore ecological systems, strengthen social value, and promote long-term economic resilience. His work further focuses on how design and construction processes, organisational structures, and project delivery methods can support regenerative transformation in the built environment. He investigates how collaborative models, procurement strategies, and digital innovations can enable systemic change in construction practices, contributing to a more restorative and resilient industry. Before joining Chalmers, Amar worked as a Project Engineer in Sweden and as an architect in the MENA-Gulf region, gaining experience across design, project management, and sustainable construction. Amar holds a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) from the American University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, and a Master of Science in Design and Construction Project Management (MSc DCPM) from Chalmers University of Technology. He is also an Associate Member of the American Institute of Architects (Assoc. AIA), and a member of Sveriges Arkitekter (MSA).
