Thisal Mandula Sugathapala

Doctoral Student at Fluid Dynamics

Thisal is a doctoral student at the Department of Mechanics and Maritime Sciences, Division of Fluid Dynamics. His research is related to addressing the challenges of developing novel Lagrangian numerical models to track the dynamics of plastic particles in the ocean. Microplastic pollution is nowadays a global challenge, directly harming marine and coastal ecosystems and also human health. Thisal will work on the development of computational tools to track these kinds of pollutants in a marine environment.
