Luis Velilla Prieto

Researcher at Astronomy and Plasmaphysics

Luis Velilla Prieto is a postdoctoral researcher in the Evolved Stars group of the Chalmers Department of Space, Earth and Environment. His research is focused on the final stages of evolution of Sun-like stars. His aim is to understand the role that these stars play in the life cycle of the Universe and how do they contribute to enrich and process the interstellar material. To carry out his research he mainly uses telescopes such as the IRAM-30m, Herschel Space Observatory, NOEMA or ALMA.
Luis is a junior member of the International Astronomical Union since August, 2018.
