Yizhou Yang

Assistant Professor at Chemistry and Biochemistry

The Yang Research Group (Materials and Nano-Transport Phenomena Lab) is passionate about small-scale transport phenomena inside nanostructured materials, e.g. covalent organic frameworks (COFs). By combining chemistry and engineering strategies, we develop materials with versatile built-in nanochannels for the diffusion of electrons, ions, molecules, photons, etc. The study of the dynamic process of diffusions at the atomic level gives fundamental insights into the transport kinetics of different particles. By mixing different transports at the nanoscale, we aim to greatly enhance the interactions among the dynamic streams for the application of future artificial intelligence and sustainability solutions to address societal problems.
