Realization and Verification of Novel Contactless MetaCoax Integration Technology for 5G UWB mmWave Array Antennas
Research Project, 2020 – 2021

Purpose and goal: The purpose of this feasibility study project is to design, fabricate and verify a new integration technology MetaCoax coupling array for 5G UWB mmW Array antennas as a preparation for the full proposal in March 2021. Our goal in this project is to achieve several simple designs and hardware prototypes of the MetaCoax coupling arrays with a good performance and simple contactless assembly verified by measurements for the sake of feasibility investigation. Expected results and effects: The expected results are that the partially contacted and contactless MetaCoax integration technologies function well with good performance, verified by measurements, then a solid path is paved for further development of full UWB mmWave MIMO array antenna Tx/Rx system integration. In addition, we expect that this project will have the effect on a new integration technology development, providing a new solution for dense UWB mmWave array antenna integrations.
