Scientific and Technical Collaboration on Cryogenic C-band PAF receiver
Research Project, 2021 – 2022

The advantages of using a Phased Array Feed (PAF) as a receiver in the radio telescope for astronomical research is increasin in the Field of View (FoV) and providing continuous multiple beams which will accelerate the mapping speed of sky. This effectively turns  radio dish into a radio camera. A 4-8GHz cryogenic C-band PAF receiver are called for performing deep sky survey to study the evolution of galaxies and the properties of transient sky. An internatioal collaboration on scientific and technical research topics of PAF receiver between Shanghai Astronomical Observatory (SHAO) and Chalmers are expected.
