DISU - Digital Service Innovation Success
Research Project, 2021
– 2022
Purpose and goal: The goal of the project is to develop knowledge about the factors/conditions required in an organization in order for it to be able to develop more successful digitally based service innovations.
Expected results and effects: The transition to develop digitally based services often takes significantly longer time than expected. Our hypothesis is that companies are not good enough at taking advantage of the ideas regarding new service innovations that exist in the company, as this type of innovations usually has to combine competence and creativity from different parts and levels in the company. The project will identify the factors that lead to successful service innovations, which generates knowledge that enables companies to be successful in their digitally based service innovation projects. Approach and implementation: The project will be accomplished in close collaboration between Chalmers University of Technology, Center for Service Research at Karlstad University, and Ascom and PIAB. These companies are undergoing a servitization process with the goal of developing more successful digitally based service innovations. During the project (step 1), interviews and workshops will be conducted with the aim of preparing a complete proposal for step 2.
