Förutsättningar för framtidens farleder
Research Project, 2022 – 2024

This project proposal is addressing the future fairway in relation to today’s traditional vessels, future navigation services, Vessel Traffic Services, and future vessels with different level of autonomy level (A2 och A3 i MSC 100/5/6) or level of remote control. The ongoing
project TrV 2019/29782” Simulator based risk identification of an autonomous shipping” has identified the future fairway as a key component in the safety chain. The project will set a vision of a future more dynamic fairway and analyses new requirements driven by
future services and vessels under remote control. Also, new fairway functions as virtual aids to navigation, geo-fencing, and positioning will be discussed and analysed. One goal will be to keep maintenance costs down and address environmental aspects.
