Purpose and goal: LIGHTer Academy is a national sustainable network of researchers within academy, research institutes and industry that collaborates within the area described in the LIGHTer agenda.The aim of LIGHTer Academy is to increase the competence and collaboration in research within the area of lightweight structures and materials, to meet future challenges and to create interdisciplinary research activities which address the large societal challenges by working towards disruptive innovations that promote radical improvements in national and international collaborations Expected results and effects: The application driven basic research performed within LIGHTer Academy is generic and focuses on the strategic challenges within lightweight technologies targeting sustainability, energy and resource efficiency and societal change. Expected effect is a network, a multidisciplinary team, that together formulates new research opportunities, publish papers in international journals and act in the international research environment
