EPD Berg
Research Project, 2024 – 2025

Purpose and goal
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Our vision is a common tool for the industry, both nationally and internationally, which connects the actual production chain of rock materials with well-thought-out models, European databases and other available EPD systems. In this way, both producers and society are offered a common and accepted way of calculating environmental performance, presenting the result, and interpreting the environmental impact. The aim is to create sustainable production and increased competitiveness by connecting reality with EPDs.

Expected results and effects
The result is a tool with more functions and a sustainable business model and an organization for support and maintenance to include environmental data and export the tool itself to Europe. The effect goals are for the industry to get a comprehensive, transparent and up-to-date way of measuring environmental impact. The rock materials industry has become noticeably more energy and resource efficient for several years. Dialogue is held in society and between authorities and companies about eligibility requirements on environmental impact and how it can be reduced based on facts.
