Revolutionary AI Technology for a Smoother and Safer Construction IndustryConstruction projects are known for their significant challenges, especially delays and cost overruns. However, a new era is on the horizon. This groundbreaking project aims to harness advanced artificial intelligence and real-time analysis to not only identify and manage risks in construction planning but also ensure sustainability and efficiency throughout the entire construction process. In today´s Sweden, delayed construction projects have adverse consequences for both industry stakeholders and society at large. This research project tackles the root of the issue by introducing AI technology early in the planning phase. With proactive planning and meticulous risk analysis before construction begins and during the production process, the path is paved for successful large-scale construction projects.Particularly in Sweden, there is a growing need to construct security-classified projects as society´s demands expand. These projects, such as prisons and military installations, are typical examples of complex and extensive construction projects that require extensive documentation, secure communication among participants, and specific IT platforms. This aspect must be considered when developing AI solutions, as there are significant socio-economic benefits to be gained from these projects. The project is conducted in collaboration between leading researchers from DTU and Chalmers, project executor Yolean, and construction companies in need of this technological revolution. The goal is to use AI to enhance the entire project planning process by analyzing data from past successful construction projects. This allows for the identification and correction of risks and inefficiencies, resulting in reduced delays and costs, while significantly improving safety and sustainability.By testing this advanced AI technology in real construction projects, it is also possible to predict and prevent issues before they arise, ultimately contributing to more sustainable buildings and secure construction processes. Furthermore, developing these solutions with the requirements of security-classified projects in mind increases societal benefits and the potential of this development. The future of construction projects in Sweden looks promising with AI as its primary ally.
