AI-based Deformation Compensation for the AM Process (AIDCAM)
Research Project, 2024 – 2025

The purpose of the project is to establish a collaborative project within applied AI in an additive manufacturing context. This collaboration is between the Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Cambridge. The project aims to propose a method for AI-based deformation compensation to improve the geometric quality of additively manufactured parts.

The expected outcome of this project is to propose a method utilizing AI principles for approximating the deformation of the additive manufactured parts and compensate for this error. This method is planned to be published by means of an open-access publication. This method can enhance the understanding of the manufacturing process of complex parts by analyzing the expected outcome. The manufacturing industries can take advantage of the developed method plan and adjust the designed product.
