How to Avoid 'Information Overload': Cognitive Strategies for the Site Manager
Research Project, 2025
The project is a pilot study conducted in collaboration between NCC and Chalmers University of Technology, aiming to develop a better understanding of the challenges posed by an increased flow of digital information. The project will employ a combination of interviews with site managers and an experimental component where a select group will test different types of digital interfaces. The research methodology is based on cognitive load theory as the theoretical framework. The knowledge generated will serve as a foundation for designing new digital interfaces and information systems. This will enable effective decision-making and facilitate a smoother digital transition within the construction sector, which is crucial in an era where digitalization drives innovation and competitiveness.
