Towards High-Rate, Sustainable and High-Performance Noobed 3D-Textile Composite Outlet Guide VanEs (THRIVE)
Research Project, 2025
– 2027
Fureho AB, GKN Aerospace Sweden AB, and Chalmers University of Technology aim to develop lightweight, sustainable, aeroengine Outlet Guide Vane (OGV) demonstrators using innovative near-net-shape Noobed 3D pre-form reinforced composites. Coordinated by Fureho, this project is a direct continuation of the successful ´3D OGV´ proof-of-concept project, advancing the TRL of the Noobed 3D pre-form reinforced OGVs by improving manufacturing, processing, testing, and analysis.
This project is driven by the Flightpath 2050 vision to reduce emissions, demanding lighter, cleaner, and more efficient aero engines. Successful outcomes will lay the foundation for advancing simplified, lightweight, and multifunctional Noobed 3D pre-form reinforced composite material Outlet Guide Vanes. This will strengthen the Swedish aerospace ecosystem through industry and academic collaborations and position Fureho as a strategic global aerospace contributor.
