NetZero Engineer 5.0
Research Project, 2026 – 2027

Purpose and goal
NetZero Engineer 5.0 is a national effort to strengthen Swedish industry´s ability to implement the climate transition. The project is implemented collaboration between 13 universities within Svenska Produktionsakademien, industrial companies of various sizes, and employer and employee organizations. The expected deliverables of the project are a scalable and quality-assured education offering, a strengthened digital infrastructure for lifelong learning, and increased participation from SME.

Expected effects and result
The expected deliverables of the project are a scalable and quality-assured education offering, a strengthened digital infrastructure for lifelong learning. This will have both short-term effect for industry´s skills needs and long-term systemic benefits through a robust national structure for continuing education - in line with Sweden´s objective of net zero emissions and a competitive, sustainable industry.

Planned approach and implementation
The project´s aim is to develop and establish a continuing education program in collaboration between academia, industry and organizations that consists of 15+ new NetZero training modules in digitalization, sustainability and resilience, 30+ short “training nuggets” that complement the modules, and an Integration of modules into advanced higher education.
