EPOS-SE: European Plate Observing System
Research Project, 2027 – 2030

The European Plate Observing System-European Research Infrastructure C onsortium (EPOS-ERIC ) is the single,
genuinely pan-European, distributed research infrastructure in solid Earth sciences and represents the latter in
the European Open Science C loud (EOSC ). By providing broad homogenised access to open/FAIR data,
analytical workflows and distributed processing/analysis, EPOS facilitates all basic and applied scientific activities
related to the solid Earth and is a cornerstone in our world of increasingly data-driven research. Research that
profits from EPOS addresses scientific challenges like unravelling the Earth's origin and internal processes and
how they interact with and affect the hydro-, bio- and atmospheres and near space. Better understanding of
societal challenges such as climate change, natural hazards, the availability of natural resources, and their
effects on our social and economic systems, will benefit from the comprehensive access of data that EPOS
enables.
EPOS Sweden is the Swedish contribution to the international research infrastructure EPOS-ERIC . EPOS Sweden
was specifically designed to bring Swedish data and services to EPOS, as the missing link between international
data integration and the Swedish data producing infrastructure. EPOS Sweden will contribute to the challenges
ahead, mainly making EPOS more attractive and usable by improving data and thematic coverage.
