How to make energy efficiency a priority amongst ship crew members?
Research Project, 2014
– 2017
Great opportunities exist to increase energy efficiency on exisiting ships. Such a development is necessary to reduce emissions from shipping and to maintain and increase competitiveness of shipping companies. Working efficiently with energy efficiency requires, however, well developed means of cooperation between the shipping company organisation ashore and ship crew. This project aims at understanding what strategies and behaviour amongst crew lead to a more energy efficient ship operations. Consequently, how this knowledgen can be utilized to encourage crews to achieve an energy efficiency operation of the ship. The stusy is performed as an case studies in a large Swedish shipping company.
