LAYTERM (eit RawMaterials)
Research Project, 2016
– 2017
We develop and give a suite of short courses on mineral raw material production for laypersons, such as policy makers, government employees, representatives from NGOs etc. The key deliverables will comprise course concepts and material for face-to-face learning as well as e-learning. A more balanced understanding of mining and metals production, as well as the economic and societal relevance of raw materials is of key importance for the wider society perspective of the KIC Raw Materials.
The European Institue of Innovation and Technology (EIT) consortium Raw Materials has the ambitious vision of turning the challenge of raw materials dependence into a strategic strength for Europe. Its mission is to boost the competitiveness, growth and attractiveness of the European raw materials sector via radical innovation and entrepreneurship. This Knowledge and Innovation Community will integrate multiple disciplines, diversity and complementarity along the three sides of the knowledge triangle (business, education and research) and across the whole raw materials value chain.
