Application of laser-plasma interaction in a waveguide
Research Project, 2019 – 2021

In a plasma waveguide, the laser-plasma interaction exhibits novel aspects due to the modification of the laser field by the waveguide. The resulted electromagnetic wave can be discribed by waveguide modes, which have many potential applications in generating high-charge electron beam, X-ray bursts, and THz emissions. The aim of this project is to investigate the underlying physics in the ultra-intense laser (acting as waveguide modes) interacting with plasmas and to explore the potential applications in compact particle accelerator and radiation sources.
