Offshore Väst

Research Project, 2019 – 2022

OffshoreVäst is a cooperation project which started in 2013 and can be seen as a platform for interaction and innovation. We bring together some of Sweden’s best in the offshore sector with the goal of developing together. By drawing upon the strong industry of Sweden, we are developing an internationally recognized offshore industry in the Swedish west coast area.

OffshoreVäst’s operative activities are performed within the framework of five working areas referred to as work packages or “wp”. The first four work packages deals with technology development, while the fifth (Offshore Academy) brings together the industry and research institutes. The idea behind the four technology-centered work packages is to create several technology-associated development projects that vary in both aim and scope.

All of our work packages focus on different areas of the offshore sector, mainly because of the difference in the current stages of commercialization, but also because the needs differ depending on the offshore segment. Despite this fact, our goal is to create collaboration between the different WPs and develop the industry by mixing different fields of expertise and experiences.
