Industrial Water
Research Project, 2019 – 2020

Purpose and goal: Our goal is to provide solutions or alternatives to achieve a complete recirculation or reprocessing of industrial water as well as implementation of processes that can guaranty a minimal consumption of chemicals, energy and waste reduction. Water management plans within the process industry Expected results and effects: Workshops with the industrial partners will be organized to identify the industrial processes in which the project should focus. These processes will be studied to determine available chemical free water cleaning methods as well as analyzing methods and in-line monitoring systems. This information will provide a valuable assessment of the problematic, how can it be approached, and which solutions can be implemented. It will also provide information for new industrial partners as how a stage 2 project can be built up. Approach and implementation: Two physical project meeting will be held as well as visits at project companies for the case studies. The following goals need to be fulfilled for a successful stage 2 continuation: identification of system boundaries in industrial processes (technologies, technical solutions and prerequisites for in-line monitoring), state of the art for technologies and systems for cleaning and control of water process fluids.
