STATUS - Strategic industrial information Systems
Research Project, 2020 – 2021

Purpose and goal: The goal is to implement an optimization tool for system monitoring to achieve energy savings of 25-50 GWh / year and 30% reduction of variations in studied pulp qualities.
Expected results and effects: The project is a first step towards future commercialization and implementation of research and operator supported digital twins. The system is generic and can be modified for other process sections in the process industry.
Approach and implementation: Implementation and configuration of important control loops and other physical sensors to be followed up together with the soft sensors, in the form of physical models and empirical pulp quality models, which are already implemented as results from completed research projects. Development of operator interfaces for optimal interaction. Test of autonomous follow-up of selected process sections. Development of various business models together with industry. Testing of systems together with operators and operations managers. Long-term follow-up for 2 months.
