ChaseOn Multiantenna wireless architectures for next-generation wireless systems (Mantua)
Research Project, 2017 – 2021

The aim of the project is to develop advanced antenna systems and solutions for 5G and beyond 5G wireless communication networks. Antenna systems will be studied in the context of complex heterogeneous and dynamic wireless networks, where each node may provide both wireless access (i.e., connectivity to user terminal) and wireless backhaul services (i.e., connectivity to the core network)
[CBM+13] and where network functionalities may be implemented according to different architecture splits, from fully centralised to fully decentralised. Our solutions, which will rely on realistic hardware models, will be optimised for different performance indicators such as capacity, coverage, latency, energy efficiency, and reliability.
