Phase II - Virtual Produktion Planning with the help of BIM and visualization
Research Project, 2015 – 2017

The project is a pilot study to explore the possibilities and challenges in the use of 3D-visualization in planning of the construction production phase. The project builds on a current planning method which is loosely based on empowerment of the subcontractors through the use of a last planner inspired planning approach. In The primary focus in this second phase is the analysis of the planning method and problem as well as the evaluation and redesign of the software prototype (the VPP-system). The aim is that the final version of the system will be implemented, tested and evaluated in a live project. Thus it will be possible to study the effects and the contribution to the planning and production process. The overall aim is to produce a better planning and scheduling and in the end a more effective and more productive construction site.
