Secure email and anti-spam
Research Project, 2009 – 2011

The goal with the project is to investigate the possibility to detect spam email by only looking at the first TCP-header in each email. The idea is that it should be possible to build a spam detection system that has no access to the contents of the email or even needs to reassemble the full email from all TCP segments. The project showed that by using machine learning and social network techniques, it was possible to successfully identify spam by just looking at single TCP segments.
