Shippers´ perceptions and priority towards intermodal road-rail transportation when buying transport services
Paper in proceeding, 2015

The paper analyse shippers perceptions and attributed importance towards intermodal transportation when buying logistics services. The importance of environmental considerations when purchasing logistics services is increasing and the use intermodal train services is one measure for decarbonisation. However, it is not clear to what extent and how shippers influence the mode selection. There could be several reasons for why shippers do not use intermodal road-rail transportation, e.g. infrastructure, costs, time restrictions, environmental aspects, flexibility, reliability, geographical coverage and easiness-to-use.
