The Battery Life Cycle of an Autonomous Road Transport System

The overall control on fleet level gives unique opportunities to ensure the most beneficial usage of the EES. Here, we introduce Einride’s approach to the life cycle of a battery-based EES in a large fleet of autonomous transport pods. We briefly review certain aspects of mechanical and electrical design, explore operation strategies and centralized battery management and present different usage scenarios at different stages of the battery life.
