Welcome Message from General and Program Chairs
Other conference contribution, 2018

Welcome to the IEEE International Conference on Automation Science and Engineering (IEEE CASE 2018), held at Technical University Munich in Germany August 21-23, 2018. CASE 2018 is the 14th edition of this conference series. The theme of IEEE CASE 2018 is Knowledge Based Automation, as our automation systems need to and are becoming more and more intelligent. Thus, they enable flexibility, adaptability and self-awareness during operation, as required for Cyber Physical Production Systems or Cyber Physical Systems in any domain. Artificial Intelligence in general, and learning in particular, are one means to gain such knowledge during run time and model based development, including a modelled knowledge base. Both aspects are included in the conference in plenary talks and technical sessions.
