Modelling of Thick Conducting Wires with Macro Basis Functions
Paper in proceeding, 2024

This paper concerns accurate and efficient method of moments (MoM) modelling of finite-conductivity wires of an appreciable electric thickness, for which conventional thin-wire MoM solvers yield inaccurate results. A macro basis function (MBF) approach is followed, which accounts for circumferential current components and variations, intended to yield similar accuracy to general surface MoM, but requiring fewer degrees of freedom. Preliminary results show that MBF solutions correspond closely with general surface MoM solutions.
