Statistical Assessment of the Core Losses in Ring Cores due to Geometrical Properties
Paper in proceeding, 2023

In this paper, the impact of laminated steel ring cores’ geometric properties on core losses is investigated by means of inferential statistics. In particular, iron loss standardized measurements taken upon ring core specimens that underwent identical manufacturing processes, are compared via two-sample t-tests to establish the existence of statistically significant differences between the samples. The experimental data is then reproduced via Finite-Element Analysis integrating the Jiles-Atherton model of hysteresis.
