Full-band Reflectionless Ultrawideband Tapered Slotline Antenna With Band-Notched Characteristic by Loading Absorptive Bent Dipoles
Journal article, 2025

In this letter, a full-band (DC–11 GHz) reflectionless ultrawideband tapered slotline antenna (TSA) with a bandnotched characteristic is proposed. Absorptive bent dipoles (ABDs) terminated with matched loads are embedded on the TSA radiating aperture to achieve reflectionless band-notched response. A high-pass network, consisting of a resistor-inductor (RL) shunt branch, is integrated into the feeding structure to obtain ultrawideband reflectionless response. A prototype is fabricated and its performance is measured, demonstrating an ultrawide impedance matching (VSWR<2) bandwidth from DC to 11 GHz and stable endfire radiation with gain ranging from 4 to 10 dBi from 3 to 11 GHz. At 5.8 GHz, the ABD-loaded design exhibits 10 dB gain suppression in the notch band while maintaining full-band reflectionless characteristics. Reflectionless band-notched characteristic effectively reduce interference from IEEE 802.11a WLAN systems without introducing reflected components, making it advantageous for interference-sensitive ultrawideband transceivers.
