This research investigates how dynamic capabilities facilitate digital transformation (DT) in the construction sector, focusing on the shift from traditional project delivery processes to model-based project delivery. Using two pioneering Swedish projects that implemented model-based construction, the study examines how digital project capabilities emerged as episodic shifts enabling digital transformation at the project level.
