When code becomes cheap, design and architecture become more valuable. When generative AI gives us the ability to get almost anything implemented in no time, the job of software engineers becomes extremely interesting. We can increasingly focus on what we have been trained to do-software design, software architecture, and software construction. The skills and craftsmanship of software engineers now form the critical boundary between "vibe-coding" and professionally engineered software.
