All-optical phase-sensitive waveform sampling at 40 GSymbol/s

We demonstrate a novel, high-resolution all-optical phase-sensitive sampling method using separate lasers for signal, sampling and mixing. A 40 GBaud DPSK signal was asynchronously sampled and visualized as a constellation diagram including transitions (625 ksamples).
